Breaking My Blog
Posted by erin at August 20, 2003 04:30 PMI've taken Bruno off the site. I gave the strip a long time to improve, but nothing happened. Then it became Lil' Bruno or whatever. So Rick's long-standing wish is finally granted.
I'm sure you all want to read my blackout story. It's coming up soon. But not right this minute, I have to edit it.
Meanwhile I'm enjoying my internship quite a bit. My old job was really bringing me down. Working here makes me feel as if I'd been wandering in a desert for the past two years. I feel like a lot of other crappy metaphors, too. But I'm not going to go on about them here.
I hope to find a part-time job soon. I've gone on some interviews, but nothing seems too promising. Finding a part-time job is almost worst than finding a normal job, since the number of part-time openings is small.

If you did well on the SATs you should apply to work for the Princeton Review. There's an odious training period, but once you're in it pays a good bit. I think it starts $18 an hour, and it's always part time work. Krista did it in NYC and is now doing it in SF and has recruited me as well.

I would try that, but I'm not fond of teaching, and I only took the ACT, which I only did OK on. Comparatively, Adan did better. Adan is more qualified to teach at Princeton Review than I am.

Actually I thought the little girl comic was not odious. Bruno however was. It was taint and marxgirl's theory that Bruno was written by a misogynist in order to make its readers hate women.

Isn't that a kick in the teeth?

The thing is, Adan is such a calm, easy-going guy, it's fun to get him mad sometimes, you know? He's got that British-stiff-upper-lip temper-under-control thing happening and it's real fun to see him upset. It's like PBS going ballistic when he gets mad. It's like if Mr. Rogers got angry.
To tell you the truth, probably in our group of friends I got the lowest SAT score (compared to the ACT), so technically everyone is more qualified to teach at Princeton then me, not just Adan.

Your verbal score might've been higher than mine, since I took my SATs only after 2 years of speaking English.
