More Pretear

So I've been watching more Pretear, where the villianess is referred to as "The Princess of Destruction", or sometimes, Fenrir, or other times, Takako. Apparently she was Takako, a kind princess, before she gave into her evil side and turned into Fenrir!! We should all watch out.

The party last Friday was a huge success! Jerks who didn't show up: Anothony, Kerry, Jay, Zoya & Matt. Also Lisa, who was doing her taxes. The work people showed up real early and left fairly early too, but not as early as Grace, in her unending quest to go to Westchester. The people from work who showed up were mostly from the storyboard department, with only one designer and the other P.A. showing up. (Dave the P.A. stayed for a long time! He must be much cooler than I'm giving him credit for.)

Tom had his baby the other day! It looks just like him.

And one more thing! Twice today "chocolate chip ice cream" has come up in anime I've been watching - both in Pretear and in Marmalade Boy. Granted, Mikki got a job in an ice cream parlor.... bu, based on my anime research I'd have to say the three most popular flavors of ice cream in Japan are:

1. Chocolate Chip
2. Rum Raisin
3. Chocolate Chip Mint

With a close 4th being Kimchee flavored ice cream on top of a scoup of green tea flavored ice cream (Himeno's favorite in Pretear).

Wow... I love Kimchi, but I don't think I could go for Kimchi flavored ice cream. It really doesn't taste good with everything. For instance, Korean "pizza"... not so good with the Kimchi.

You're watching Marmalade Boy? Heh. :)

"Anothony"? Yeah, he must be a jerk.

I haven't noticed Kimchi ice cream here in Korea. There are a lot of fruit flavors of ice cream (Mango is unbelievably popular in everything and they say mahn-go, that is, the a is pronounced like ah) They also seem to have the semi-gross tea flavors that were available in Japan.

I've never had Kimchi with pizza, they usually serve Italian food (pizza inclusive) with pickles instead of kimchi.

Of course, Eugene may be referring to a dish many Koreans refer to as 'korean pizza' The only thing it has in common with pizza is that it is a circle, it is closer to an omelet.

It's probably best that I didn't show up. Good luck with your comic though.

Korean pizza, while it has little to do with pizza, is wonderful and delicious and I love it. Japanese "pizza" is similar but less kimchee and more sea creatures. Also, really good. There is, or there was, a "Korean and Japanese" restaurant on St. Marks's near 3rd ave that made really good "Korean Pizza". The menu description did warn that it wasn't really a pizza.

"mahn-go, that is, the a is pronounced like ah"

that is the correct pronunciation in Spanish, which is weird because there is no Spanish speaking country anywhere near Korea (the Philippines might count, but i doubt it).

It isn't related to Spanish, the Korean alphabet doesn't easily allow for them to produce the a sound, so it becomes an 'ah' Many English words go through transformations in this manner.
