This is your brain on anime

"If you're really worried that you don't read enough books, you can try to swap some of anime-watching time for book-reading time."
That's kind of like telling an alcoholic that if they drank less, they could spend more time in the library. I guess its kind of dunting, since I average 2 minutes per page reading a book... it seems like I can watch anime a lot... faster.
To illustrate, I made these graphs of the corrosive effect anime has had on my brain over the years:

Awesome! You should post the original brain picture so we can all do diagrams like this!
As for reading faster - you can learn fast reading techniques. Like follow the text with your finger (it'll keep your eyes from getting lazy) or use a ruler to underline lines of text and move it down as fast as you can while still understanding the text. It'll improve your reading time by some amount. If anyone can do it you can - you're obviously very motivated to do some things, e.g. gym and dieting, so reading, which is way more fun than exercising and dieting should be that much easier.
Anyhow - how do you measure how much anime you've watched to say that you can watch it faster? Is one episode worth a novel? Or is one entire series worth a novel? What about short stories? How about anime movies? What about all those episodes you watch that you wish you haven't? I'm really interested in how this is measured :)

Note that "Chores" and "Appreciating Parents" are not even on the brain stem.
and I think you are neglecting Noah too. and even worse, Dr. Who!

Seriously. I was wondering if this was turning into a pure anime review site. I mean, I like anime more than most people (by which I mean your random person, rather than the average reader of this blog), but I was getting a bit bored.
Now I can see that Anime is like a virus that has slowly eaten away all other pursuits. Now I understand.
But wouldn't the final step be to go live in Japan? I mean, that would seem a natural progression, heading straight to the source. It would enable you to truly follow that which your brain (and heart?) desires. Rather than having to download crappy copies of the internet or whatever.

I think learning Japanese would be an intermediary step. Going to Japan for anime turns out to be mostly useless unless you speak Japanese.
If you do not wish to learn Japanese but would still like lots of lovely, high-quality, cheap anime, Singapore would probably suit your purposes. Ask ET ;)
Also, Mrs. Finnegan, I think chores usually weigh in on the negative brain scale, among other things you never want to think about.

Wait, wasn't Hal your crappy boyfriend in 2001? Isn't that a little rude?

No, Hal was my boyfriend in 2000. Duuuuuh. I only had one crappy boyfriend in 2001.
Also N. only requires 5% of my brain because he's low-maintence. I don't have to worry he's going to dump me or something.

I'm pretty sure there's something messed up about that last graph... I feel sorry for N, considering you spend less time on him than you did for crappy bf, but I suppose if you blend N with D&D and Anime, he gets a huge percentage of your attention.
I think I read somewhere that devoting 65% or more of your brain to anime basically makes you into an anime zombie. Are you a zombie?
