I have been busy today, with 2 meetings to go to this morning.
Tonight I am meeting an old friend for drinks, and will not attend sci-fi club.
By some clerical error I have been made a floor captain for the company blood drive. I've never given blood before, but now I feel obligated to. We'll see if I pass out.
I just finished eating an octopus cookie from Starbucks! It was not made of octopus, or flavored as such, but rather, was a sugar cookie decorated with purple frosting to look like an octopus.

Also, Bruno's dream sequences are really cool!!

Tuesday
They didn't have anything for me to do temp-wise today, so I have been training a bit for my new job. My new coworkers assure me it will not be boring, or at least, it will be far less boring than what I had been doing. In other exciting work-related news, I will get a seat by the window! From my window one can see the Lincoln Tunnel entrance, and the Newark airport, along with most of Jersey City. I could give traffic and weather reports on my blog.
Meanwhile, I am having trouble coming up with an idea for a new short story to write in the lull between screenplay revisions. Suggestions are welcome. I might take all the suggestions I receive and combine them into one short story.

Monday
Wow, today is crawling by. We're talking super-slow, slug-pace, no, wait, tree-sloth-pace. Maybe it's because I've just come back from vacation.
For the 4th of July I flew home to Michigan with N. I introduced him to my family, which went quite well. N.'s superhero power is the ability to get along with other people's parents. I threw a bonfire and saw some of my old high school friends. We ate smores and were bothered by a stray cat. The flights were uneventful, and also involved at least two cats and no less than three dogs.
Work is winding down. The big, over-due project I have been assigned to is largely winding down, and my new job starts on Monday, so I don't have a whole lot to do at the moment. I think that makes things go slower.
I saw the Powerpuff Girls movie and rather enjoyed it. It is quite short, so there is really only time for one large conflict towards the end; therefore, a scene in the beginning where the girls play tag is dragged out a little longer than it had ought to be, but other than that, it is a very enjoyable film. There are some terrific monkey jokes, which I will not give away here.
