Our New York Anniversary Party

Comments Off on Our New York Anniversary Party

Our invitations have gone out for our New York “Reception” which has been downgraded to more or less a party on June 25th. Email us at noahanderin (at) gmail (dot) com if you think your invitation has gone missing.

Our event is three tiered:

1. 6pm: A dinner for VIPs only, mostly people who went on the flight with us and close relatives.

2. 8pm: Dessert and cocktails for almost everyone, a showing of the wedding video. (No dancing.)

3. 10pm: Dancing (and more dessert) at another venue, and more videos.

We’re maxing out the space of each venue, so it was necessary to divide the invitations up a bit. Some guests are invited to all three parts. A few people we couldn’t squeeze but wanted to include in are just invited to the dance.

I also regret that we couldn’t afford to feed everyone dinner. Hopefully by starting late, we’ve given enough time for everyone to eat dinner elsewhere. Also with all the money we’ve saved on food, we can afford better desserts and drinks!

Please look forward to it!

It’s one small step for man, one potentially nausea-inducing leap for matrimony. A couple of space enthusiasts are getting married in zero gravity, so they’re throwing a party for what promises to be a history-making event. Drop in to get the how’s and why’s behind their wedding, which will take place aboard something called the “Vomit Comet.” There’ll be space-themed music, free Space Food Sticks to munch on, and a custom-made zero gravity wedding gown will even be on display.

*The press conference will run from 7:30-8:00 followed by a question and answer session. This will be an opportunity to meet us, get a press pack and take pictures of the dress.

Sudden Change of Date, Location

Comments Off on Sudden Change of Date, Location

The hardest part of planning our wedding so far has been not having a date. We’ve been in talks with the Zero G company since the beginning of the year, and at first, it seemed like they might do a flight out of New York later this year. That fell through, and then we were going to buy tickets for an unannounced flight out of Boston on June 13th.

Today the Boston flight fell through, so now it looks like we’re getting married on June 20th in Cape Canaveral, Florida. That was one of our possible locations before I went to Japan, so it’s not totally unexpected. It is troublesome, because Boston is a $30 bus ride from New York City, whereas Florida is a $200+ flight, and we have to rent a car, and so forth.

The number one question people ask when you tell them you’re engaged is “So when is the wedding?” followed up by “Where?”

My wedding is unusual in many ways, but with just two months to go, I still don’t have a definite date or location. I thought we were buying the Zero G tickets yesterday, for sure, but our purchase still hasn’t happened yet. My dad has been asking me when the zero gravity flight will take place for over a year, and I still don’t have a definite answer.

Here are some pictures of the final dress, although very small:
