The morning show we’ll be interviewed on tomorrow has been revealed to be “The CBS Early Morning Show.” They expect to get to us between 8:00 and 8:30am. There is always the possibility that we could be pre-empted by more pressing news (in particular given the state of affairs in Iran at the moment), but we should have about a five minute segment or so.

This awesome new site design is my wedding gift from Sam, and her friend Joanne.

Now it’s T-15 hours or so before the ceremony! I better pack up the car and get some sleep!

Etsy Earrings!

I’m not someone who usually wears jewelery, and it occurred to me that I didn’t have any earrings to wear with my dress.

I commissioned a pair of zero gravity earrings using Etsy.com’s Alchemy function. Etsy.com, for those not in-the-know is an online marketplace for buying and selling handmade items. I’m a big fan of the site, and a lot of my friends have their own Etsy shops, including Kari, who’s going on the zero gravity flight with us.

Two Etsy jewelry makers made really attractive bids, so I commissioned Tesoro Bella Jewelry to make my earrings, and Treasuresheart to make earrings for my bridesmaids and my mom.

Here’s a picture of my earrings and bracelet!

Treasureheart’s earrings arrived in the mail today! They are totally sweet.

Hair and Make-up are go!

Comments Off on Hair and Make-up are go!

Today I did a trial run of my wedding hair at Lambs Eat Ivy Salon in downtown Orlando. The owner was really excited by the challenge of designing hair for zero gravity!

I picked Lambs Eat Ivy based on a series of criteria – first, it was listed as one of Citisearch’s top salons in Orlando. Second, my old roommate and good friend Demi is from Florida, and she really loves Twin Peaks, and in it, there’s a scene where a character sings the song about lambs eating ivy.

The salon is super-cool, and in a really cute neighborhood of Orlando.

After a couple of trials the owner came up with a really cool style for my wedding hair. Noah also received a quick trim and some hair product, so he is looking really sharp.

My hair is now straightened, I am under strict orders not to wash it. I have a lot of curly hair, so it’s super weird to have long straight hair.

Update from Florida

T minus 4 days until the wedding.

Noah and I successfully made it to Orlando. Today we’re off to get a marriage license and talk to a florist.

It turns out there will be two shuttle launches while Noah and I are here! (Weather permitting.) I’ve been looking up the best places to view launches. I don’t know if we can actually make the 5:41 AM launch tomorrow, but maybe the 5:12 PM launch on Thursday…

Final Crew Manifest

T minus six days and counting to the wedding! My Bed Bath and Beyond registry still lists the wrong date, so at least one friend thought our wedding was the 13th – it’s not, it’s the 20th!

Our rings arrived and Noah’s tux is done. It is really sharp, I can’t wait to see him wear it!

Two bridal showers, one bachelor party and one bachelorette party later, the crew manifest has changed and is final:

On the Plane 6/10/2009
————-
1. Noah (groom)
2. Erin (me)
3. Officiant Richard Garriott / Lord British
4. Our (video) camera person through Zero G Corp
5. Our still Photographer TBD through Zero G Corp
6. Kari
7. Colin
8. Evonne
9. Johan
10. Matt (Erin’s brother)
11. Erin’s Mom
12. Erin’s Dad

The Canadian couple has dropped out. I hope they have an even cooler space wedding sometime in the future!

Garriott’s mom called my mom and told her what it’s like to go on the flight. My dad was convinced to go after watching a video from the Zero G Company that made it look really pleasant and fun. So in the end, my parents are going on the flight after all. This is thanks in part to an anonymous soldier in Iraq who offered to pay for half of mom’s ticket.

Noah and I are flying to Florida tomorrow afternoon to get our wedding license details straightened out.

I’m still working on the bouquet part!

Sponsors!

Comments Off on Sponsors!

The press coverage has continued to pour in, with our story in the U.K.’s Telegraph, translated into Japanese, translated into Greek, appearing in a website for Western Australia, and on nerd news sites Kotaku and Slashdot.

Because our wedding is particularly expensive, we’re looking for sponsors. Your logo could appear in the Zero G plane (or be added to the video in post production). Below are some examples of sponsored flights with Zero G. Diet Rite soda has put decals all over the cabin in some of the images, and Norton Antivirus put one huge logo on the back of the cabin as well as putting patches on the jumpsuits of flight members.

We didn’t have a definitive wedding date for well over a year, and we couldn’t tell what kind of press coverage we might get. But now, with just over a week to go, we know the answer is rather a lot.

Please contact us at noahanderin (at) gmail (dot) com if you would like to talk about sponsorship or placing an advertisement with us!

Press Day R-r-r-r-round Up!

We were awakened this morning around 5:00am by the simultaneous ringing of our phones! It was news people calling us up because this had just hit the stands:

So in love they could float away… which appeared on p. 7 of the NY Daily News, featuring pictures taken at last night’s event!

Later in the day arrived this highly inaccurate article: Couple plan to wed in space from that bastion of credible journalism, the Sun.

A cavalcade of others followed, once the story *really* hit the wires:

Daily Telegraph
Cape Times
Space Daily
UPI
Ad nauseum…

Today’s favorite headline:

Hipster Nerds to have Zero-Gravity Wedding

Someone sure has our number…

Press Kit Available Online

In case you are a member of the press and missed the press event last night, I have made the press kit available online here.

Noah’s last name is spelled “Fulmor” with no “e”. Noah Fulmor. It’s an unusual name.
